Biography: Gengfeng Zheng was born in Fuzhou, China in 1979. He received his B.S. degree with honors at Fudan University (China) in 2000, with research advisor Prof. Dongyuan Zhao; and his Ph.D. degree in chemistry at Harvard University in 2006, with research advisor Prof. Charles M. Lieber. His research interests include: synthesis of nanowire along with structural and electrical characterization, development of label-free, real-time, ultra-sensitive and multiplexed detection of biological and chemical species, studies of fundamental biophysical properties of biomolecules such as binding kinetics.
Zheng is a recipent of a number of academic awards, including Monsanto Scholarship (1998), Unilever Scholarship (1999), Shanghai Chemistry & Chemical Society Award (1999), Chun-Tsung Research Fellowship (2000), Material Research Society Graduate Student Gold Award (2006), and American Academy of Nanomedicine Young Investigator Award (2006). He was also conferred Distinguished Teaching Award of Harvard University (2004). |
